    Margaret Crotty joined JSI and World Education as president and CEO on January 1, 2022.  Most recently, she served as CEO of the Partnership with Children, a New York City-based provider of community health services and school-based mental health programs.  Previously, Margaret led Save the Children’s flagship initiative to reduce global child and maternal mortality. In the private sector, Margaret spent seven years in executive roles at the global corporation EF Education, living in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Paris. She has also worked for McKinsey & Co. in Jakarta, Indonesia. Margaret graduated from Princeton University with a BA in History and African-American Studies, and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University.

      Sylvia Bartley is widely recognized as a neuroscientist, advocate, and champion of social change, dedicated to advancing health equity by removing barriers to care for minoritized communities and addressing the social determinants of health.

      For the last 20 years, Sylvia worked for Medtronic, the world’s leading health care technology company, where she held roles in sales, marketing, physician education, and philanthropy. During this time, Sylvia demonstrated her ability to Influence change, adapt to various complex environments, and work collaboratively and cross-functionally to achieve goals. Her broad-based expertise spans strategic and financial planning, health equity, evidence-based research, philanthropy, operations, business alliance management, team leadership, community engagement, board engagement, external affairs, and disaster response. Sylvia is the author of Turning the Tide: Neuroscience, Spirituality, and My Path toward Emotional Health, and hosts The More We Know Community Show, a long-standing weekly community public affairs radio show and podcast featuring people who level the playing field for all minorities by breaking barriers in their careers, lives, and communities.

      Sylvia has a Ph.D. in neurophysiology from the St. Barts and The Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry. She received her BSc with honors in pharmacology from the University of East London.

        Janice Clark is the Chief Financial Officer for John Snow, Inc., JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. and World Education, Inc. Prior to this role, Janice served as the Controller for World Education, Inc. and previous to that, as the Contracts and Grants Manager at John Snow, Inc.  She brings over twenty years of financial management experience in a global environment for both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.  Janice has a BA in Philosophy and English from Boston College, an MA in Philosophy from Boston College, and an MBA degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

          James MacNeil has implemented programs on education, livelihoods, development, and natural resources management in South and Southeast Asia for 20 years. He lived and worked in Thailand, Vietnam, and India for ten years. Since 1999, he has worked with World Education providing technical assistance and managerial oversight to school governance and sustainable agriculture programs in Indonesia and projects that get vulnerable children and child laborers back to school in India.

            For nearly 15 years, Patience Ndlovu has lead Bantwana Initiative programs in various countries, spearheading innovations and models with a deliberate and genuine commitment to locally led development and solutions. Her efforts have strengthened national case management systems and operationalized multi-sector coordination from national to village level. She oversees Bantwana’s work in child protection, girls education, and economic strengthening, as well as in preventing HIV and gender-based violence, and supporting orphans and vulnerable children. Before joining World Education, she worked for various local and international organizations in different capacities. Patience has a Master’s degree in Policy Studies from the Southern Africa Regional Institute for Policy Studies and Bachelor’s degree in Rural and Urban Planning from the University of Zimbabwe.

              As vice president of World Education, Priyanka Sharma oversees the organization’s U.S.-based projects and centers of expertise, including the EdTech Center, National College Transition Network, New England Literacy Resource Center, and SABES Program Support Center. Priyanka leads projects on post-secondary career readiness, technology integration, digital transformation, and digital skills development. She co-leads Digital US, a national initiative with a cross-sector approach to design a learn and work ecosystem that fosters digital resilience for all learner workers. She also directs the New England Literacy Resource Center, leading projects that emerge from collaboration among policymakers, professional developers, and practitioners. Priyanka has authored two resources (Mentoring Toolkit and English Now! Implementation Guide) that support peer mentoring and learning; contributed to Mapping the Financial Journey for adult students; and co-authored Leveraging Technology to Increase Opportunity and Economic Security for Adults. She has a degree in biology and anthropology from the State University of NY.

                With more than 16 years of experience working in both US and international education sectors, Adam Turney currently serves as the Vice President of World Education’s Africa Division. He provides managerial oversight and technical assistance across the portfolio while also serving as a senior technical advisor. He supports monitoring and evaluation systems, research, and new business development opportunities with a focus on initiatives in Mozambique, Ethiopia, and Jordan, and serving as an Africa Division lead for the EdTech Center. Before joining World Education in 2014, Adam spent more than eight years teaching and volunteering in the US, South Korea, and Mozambique. Adam completed his BA at Michigan State University and has an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s International Education Policy program.

                  Alicia Waller is a seasoned HR executive with more than 27 years of experience building and strengthening HR infrastructures to support domestic and global organizations. Her expertise includes advising and leading strategic planning, corporate development, and change management initiatives. During her career, Waller has led enterprise-wise efforts to align the organizational workforce with business strategic goals. Waller has developed, launched, and managed programs for all human capital functional areas as well as supporting implementations for custom HR solutions.

                  She holds an MBA, an MS in International Management, a BS in Business Management and Human Resources from the University of Maryland; and is a certified senior professional in Human Resources.
